People-centric applications
Till now applications within enterprises have been created to represent data in 2D formats. With MR, the same data can be represented in a 3D Space, while intermingled with the respective/relative real objects.
For example, managers used to review 2D reports to view an update on the manufacturing in a factory. Now, they can wear an MR device, walk through the manufacturing unit, interact with employees, and updates can be virtually overlaid over the respective machinery or sections.
Another application could be during war, where soldiers can collaborate and share data in real-time among themselves.
MR devices could also be used as a navigation device while driving. Hence, there is no need to get distracted by smartphone or GPS devices; the MR device can project navigation directions right into the view of the driver.
Well, these are just a few special examples of domains where you can use the HoloLens. However, at the end of the day, it’s up to your imagination where and how you want this device to work.
